Notched another fifty pages on the Petra rewrite. Still on schedule to finish by the end of the year–although I suspect I could finish even sooner if I pushed myself. I seem to have a pretty decent handle on the various balls I’m trying to juggle, now that I’m better acquainted with my novel.
This was about the point during my read-through that my editor brain really started kicking into gear, and it shows. My ms pages in this section are noticeably more scribbled on than those that came before. I have to take greater care through here to make sure I don’t miss anything.
Then again, maybe that won’t be a problem. On at least two occasions over the past week, I got a little ahead of myself, tweaking some prose without checking the marked-up hard copy. Then I would look down at the paper and see I had made a note, months ago, to make exactly the same change to that portion of the text.
Well, I find that amusing, anyway.
I’m guess I’m in sync with myself. It sure beats the alternative.
Write Club update: Tier one rejection from Clockwork Phoenix, for “Doppler Shift.” Response time, about three weeks.
Right. Back to Act Two.
