The note-making on Petra Released continues apace. I’ve filled up several pages by this time. As I look over my scribblings to date, I see that some ideas have evolved, some I’ve knocked down, and others I’ve simply abandoned. Some things are coming clearer, but the overall shape of the novel remains vague. I’m not concerned about the way things are going yet. As I recall, the note-making process on Petra followed a similar pattern. Even so, I can’t help casting an uneasy glance at the calendar every now and then.
Mostly, it seems I’m trying to sort out the rather large mess I left at the end of the last novel. And let me tell you, that’s a lot of mess. Even I didn’t realize just how big it was. But the answer’s in there somewhere, I know it. I just need to keep rummaging.
Just one update for Write Club: Noctem Aeternus has folded, as most of you know by now, meaning that “Toll” needs a new home.
Back to rummaging . . .
