Twenty chapters of Petra revised, as of yesterday.
Now that’s more like it.
Seems I have indeed found my rhythm. I wish I could have found it sooner, but you know. It’s a process, right?
I also have to say that upon further review, Petra is a pretty decent novel. It just works. I think I got lucky with this one. Of course, publishers reserve the right to feel otherwise, but I’m damned pleased with it.
Petra Released, on the other hand, is a mess. I shudder at the thought of returning to it, if only because I know I have a lot of straightening up to do. But on the other hand, I kind of look forward to shaping it into the novel I intended to write.
Ah, but those are thoughts for another time. No point in harshing my own buzz. Besides, I still need to finish the clean-up of Petra, then write the synopsis–which, if past experience is any guide, will be no fun at all–and get some queries in the mail. I’m hoping to have all that done by Thanksgiving.
So. Lots to do.
