One novel crit done, one to go. In between, I’m taking a bit of time to read some Hugo- and Nebula-eligible works. I usually don’t have such a window at this time of year, so I thought I’d take advantage of it.
Got taxes done over the weekend, too–and was surprised to learn I had made more money on fiction sales than I had thought. I actually did better than 2008, even though I made fewer sales in 2009. The explanation is simple: I didn’t get paid for most of those 2008 sales until 2009. Duh. No one will ever mistake me for a math genius.
Even so, I still I haven’t turned a profit. Expenses will do that to you. But I made my best run to date at getting in the black. That’s something, I guess.
More reading ahead. Suppose I should get to it.
