It was on this date in 1987 that I learned of the death of a friend of mine, John Kealy. He’d been killed in a motorcycle accident that had occurred the night before.
It was the first time someone close to me had died. To this day, I can remember the storm of emotion that swept through me after I heard the news, and during the weeks following.
Years later, I wrote a story about it called "Aces and Eights." Those of you who read Neo-opsis might remember that one.
Not pimping for that story here. I just wanted to tip the hat to the memory of a friend.
