Progress Report, in which I demonstrate my dazzling word skills

So that galley proofing that I mentioned last week?  Taking me a bit longer than I thought it would.

Just a bit, you understand.  A tad, even.  A smidgeon.  A skosh.  A modicum.

Dazzled by my word skills, there?  I’m a walking thesaurus, I tell ya.

What’s that?  No, I am most certainly not being lazy.  I’m not I’m not I’m not.  I’ve been busy.  Really, I have.  Really.

Not buying it?  Yeah, me, neither.

I’ll do better this week.  I hope.

No updates for Write Club.

Onward.

Halloween Song of the Day: “Years Ago/Steven”

And for your final Halloween Song of the Day, hands down the most chilling tracks on Alice Cooper’s Welcome To My Nightmare:  “Years Ago” and “Steven.”  The two songs form a set.  Their power to creep me out is not diminished after all these years.

Just close your eyes and listen to what Cooper does with his voice—to say nothing of the lyrics themselves.  I’m still not entirely sure what they’re about, but then, my best explanation is so horrifying I’m not sure I believe it.

What do you think it’s about?

Is someone calling me?  I hear my name . . .

Happy Halloween.

Halloween Song of the Day: “Diary of a Madman”

Ozzy at his creepiest, with frenzied, brilliant guitar work by the immortal Randy Rhoads:

Is he trying to get out, or trying to enter me?
