Progress Report, in which I ask for a meat cleaver

Active WorldCon prep going on here, in the form of critiques for the writing workshop.  Two down, one to go.

No time for chat.  Too busy eviscerating other writers’ hopes and dreams.  I’m sure you understand.

No updates for Write Club.

Hand me that meat cleaver, wouldya?

Progress Report, in which I don’t get overly technical

In a bit of a pre-WorldCon scramble here, so I’ll be brief:

Accomplished various administrative . . . things . . . last week.  Not to get overly technical on everyone.  But yeah, I caught up on some correspondence, finally decided on what I’m reading at WorldCon, and got a really cool idea for the new novel—a plot twist that surprised the hell out of me.  Maybe it’ll surprise readers, too.

I’ll probably be spending much of this week critiquing stories for my writing workshop section.  That’ll certainly keep me busy.  With any luck, maybe I’ll get in a bit more Dream Time, too.

No updates for Write Club.

Gotta run.  WorldCon looms . . .

Where to Find Matt at WorldCon, Final Version

My Chicon schedule has been updated.  Dig it:

Friday, August 31

3:30 pm – 4:00 pm  Reading (DuSable)

Still not sure what I’ll be reading yet, but remember my motto:  Come for a treat, stay for a tale!

Saturday, September 1

12:30 pm — 2:30 pm  Writers’ Workshop L

I understand that all workshop slots are now filled.

Sunday, September 2

1:30 pm – 3:00 pm   The Resurgence of Pseudo-Science in 21st Century America (Crystal C)

From Creationism/Intelligent Design to Astrology, non-scientific concepts seem to be capturing the population’s imagination once again. What is causing this rise of anti-science and what, if anything, can be done to stop it?

I’ll also be volunteering at the SFWA table, milling around the dealers’ room, hanging out in the bar, and hitting the parties.  As one does.

Will I see you in Chicago?
